Re: Where to purchase an ETB?
I'm with Primal Rage on this one. If you don’t agree with capturing wild snakes for the pet trade or the practice of captive hatched snakes, then you can't support the practice; even if it means you have to pay more for that special snake you want. Doing so is to say that you have "situational ethics", which in itself is an oxymoron. You either have ethics or you don't. You can't have "part-time" ethics (unless of course you're a politician). Look at the parrot trade and how they have decimated the populations of some of the rarer species of parrots. The nest raiders and smugglers have put some animals on the endangered species list, all to feed the pet trade. If parrot collectors hadn’t supported those practices by purchasing wild caught birds, it wouldn’t have happened. I hope that herpers learn from that experience and resist the urge to support the practice of purchasing wild caught or captive hatched snakes to add to our collections. Then of course there is also the risk of introducing disease or parasites into your existing collection which could be devastating. Just one mans opinion.
