Well I didn't get a snake.. but I got two other things..

I had planned to get a carpet python at Repticon this go round. I found one that I fell in love with. She was beautiful and had a great personality. I would have got her, but the price was a little more than we could comfortably afford right now since two bills were much higher than we expected this month.
My husband found a kitten at Repticon that he really wanted. He begged me to get it instead of a snake (he saw a full grown jungle carpet and didn't like how big they got..), and at first I didn't think about getting the kitten. It was only $50 cheaper than the snake, but then we went back over to the kittens and the man had come down a lot with the price. We put one on reserve and thought about it over night.

Today we returned and decided to get the kitten. He's a Bobcat/Maine Coon/Manx mix.

Before we left I found a cheap cage for when I get another snake. It was $35 because the guy really needed to get rid of it because of space. Its about 4.5 ft tall, 3ft wide and 3 ft deep. Its made of plastic and wood. It has a light built in and perches. Basically all its missing is a thermostat because the person removed the one it came with because he wanted to keep it.

I also got the guy's card because he has a clutch of carpets currently, but he doesn't sell them until he's sure they're eating and such. He told me to give him a call in about two months.

Congrats on the cat. My neighbor years ago had a bob cat maine coon mix. Huge cat but sweet as can be. He must have gone close to 20lbs and no fat on him!
