Ikea Lack Table Enclosure

I stumbled upon this interesting video- it is meant for hamsters, but it could easily be tweaked for the herp community. I thought it was interesting and it seemed a bit easier for us unhandy folk for a relatively low price.

take a look:

Re: Ikea Lack Table Enclosure

It does look great, but the problem with it is that it is made of pressed fiberboard. Not very durable when moisture is introduced. If it could be sealed in some way, that would be much better.

It's barely even 'fiberboard'. It's a hard cardboard (which may be called fiberboard? I don't know), non corrugated, just thick stuff paper board. Hollow inside, save for a cardboard 'honeycomb' for stiffness. The legs are just cardboard too. Hollow on the inside. Just little 2" thick MDF bits at the ends for screwing them into the table. I had a couple of these lack tables and when I was done with them I took a hammer to them just out of curiousity. Goes right through and out the other side. Pretty sad.

you could just buy MDF sheets for much cheaper than the LACK tables and bolt together a cage yourself. It'd be higher quality.
