snail size to substrate ratio (bioactive)

does anyone know what a good ratio of substrate volume to snail size is, that will reduce, or remove the need for substrate changes, with a bioactive substrate? i'm guessing quite a significant amount of substrate would be needed to deal with all the slime - currently have 5 giants, nearing maturity, so its time to move them into a new enclosure for breeding feeders for my Sav - springtails are doing a great job of dealing with their poop, but the slime is a constant issue i'd like to get rid of
