he's huge! Seems to handle well. I thought they were defensive?

Also how big is your red tailed boa in that video, and what size is his tank?

Slinky is often defensive. He can be handled on his terms for a minute or so at a time. He is about 2 years old, we have had him for about 15 months and he has grown from about a foot to 4 feet. I believe he will double this size. We keep him warm and he eats chicks and fish. Frozen thawed. The red tail is in a 40 tall and she is about 6 feet. She eats quail frozen thawed. Every other week. She is a sweetheart. Had her for over 3 years now. Never struck and she has grown about 3 feet since we got her.

Hi, he/she looks in nice condition, can you give some details of how you keep the monitor, and do you have some photos of the enclosure? Thanks!
Edit: I can see part of the enclosure in the video but the inside layout isn`t very clear, that`s why I`m asking for photos.

i'm not sure why my pics post sideways lol...i don't have a good pic of the whole cage. the bottom is partially a 50 gallon rubbermaid tub. there is a ledge on the left for him to get out of the water, and an upper level for him to bask. he's not supposed to squeeze in between the doors and the top level floor but it's his cage and he can use it however way he wants to lol. there is also a hollow log he sleeps in that is not in the pic. it lays on the lower ledge left of the tub. originally i wanted the tub to roll out but my friend who made it didn't build it that way, so it's a 30 minute process to clean his water. i scoop most of it out with a bucket and wet/dry vac the rest and wipe it clean and refill with 5 gallon bucket loads from our bathroom tub. i will try to remember to get a better pic of the cage and post it. oh yea, it is about 5 feet tall, about 6 feet long, and the doors have to be removed to get it through the front door.

Hi again, thanks for more details! I can`t see much in the way of substrate, is there any? Also, I`ll assume the water is unheated, I recommend it is, best around the mid 80`s to low 90`s F (you can use a small aquarium heater to do that). The reason for heating it is because they may spend quite some time in there, sometimes overnight. In the wild in some parts there are lakes that they enter very early in the morning to actually heat UP (because the water temp is higher than the air at around 90f+).
I use an external filter in my monitor`s pond, if you`re interested in using one I`ll be happy to offer advise on how to fit it so the animal doesn`t dislodge the piping (and heater).
