Pindari's 'tude after Cleaning His Cage

Yeah this is one snake that does not like being messed with. He just got done shedding and he left a couple of gifts on his newspaper so I had to clean it all up. Of course, I know what his teeth feel like, so I generally put on a pair of thermal gloves and a welder's glove over the one on my right hand as well as a heavy hoodie and of course, I have a snake hook handy. Anyway, immediately upon opening the latches to his front door, whhhooomp! He's there and ready for me! I put my right hand with the welder's glove on in front of him to block him while I scooped up and replaced his newspaper as well as gave him fresh water. Of course, he did try to tag my left hand. I got it all cleaned up and you should've seen the look on his face after it was all said and done. I did take a pic of that and this look said to me "I'm ready for you! Bring it on!"

In all fairness, he is a Scrubby and that what most of them do. I'm ok with that and he just illustrates to me just how tame my other snakes are!

Sweet looking Scrub. What kind is he? Be the size of that head he looks like he going to be a beast.

I want one sooo badly. I've always loved the look of scrubs, but the girlfriend definitely will not go for it until we get a bigger house.

Have you tried a trashcan lid as a shield for his teeth/your heat signature? It might make cage cleaning time a little less intense.

The welder's glove and the pair of thermal gloves work wonders for that. Scrubbies aren't for everyone and they are a challenge to keep but if you're up for it, it's well worth it.

Looks like he wants to savage you! Great looking snake man, I want a Mollucan high yellow down the road.

I just can't have one due to space requirements at this time. An arboreal cage with a footprint as big as one of these guys needs would take up to much room in my snake room. Yeah most people are not ok with a large aggressive animal, I personally don't mind; but then again most people wouldn't own hots either. What has he been like to keep? Is he like a big aggressive carpet? I have a coastal carpet and love her personality.
