What snake hooks do you use?
I had a metal one but I got two of these polycarbonates in different sizes a few weeks back.
Supposedly they are better for taking out snakes without freaking them out since they aren't as cold as the metal ones.

Re: What snake hooks do you use?
I took a 2/4 inch metal rod and had my friend bend it into a question mark shape, and then I cut the end of my golf club off and my brother welded the club and rod together for me. Works phenomenally

At work but I'll take some pictures when I get home. I'm not sure how much weight it'll hold but you can tell it's VERY sturdy.

Re: What snake hooks do you use?
I have two that my son got me for a couple years ago. They are solid stainless steel with a rubber coated handle and hook. They are 38" long and can hold quite a bit. I use them for all different size snakes. I use them for my 3 feet White Lipped python all the way up to my 18lb Yellow Anaconda. Mine came from Reptile Basic. Snake Hook 38"- Reptile Basics Inc

I use a solid steel one I can't remember who I bought it from. I do know I can't live without it

Re: What snake hooks do you use?
Mine is the same as above. I generally do not use it. My boa needs a tap before touching him but most of the time I use a 24" bamboo rod and not the hook. I do hook my baby carpets but just to get them out.
My adult carpets, gopher, royal and king just get picked up with no touch first.

Re: What snake hooks do you use?
i use a paint roller thats used for painting down the back of radiators, simply break the actual fluffy roller part off and your left with a long handled snake hook,i wrap electrical insulation tape round the hook end,so its not bare metal hooking the snake
a radiator paint roller only costs £3 ($4.5) out a hardware store
cheers shaun
