Re: Chiricauhua AZ Mtn Kings
im loving the black banding that is bleeding together like that, stunners!!
with the offspring, will you pick your holdbacks based on cool traits (i.e. lots of black bleeding, or high red, etc?) or will you try to stay close to the locality morphology? Just curious, they are super handsome snakes!

I like them both, but the heavy black on top does look good.
Not exactly sure, guessing less than 2 months.

Thanks. I try and choose the best animals to work with. Here, its quality over quantity. Everyone will find their nitch in this game. I feel like mine is with the colubrids, especially king snakes.

Re: Chiricauhua AZ Mtn Kings
Sweet!
I have an adult trio (1.2) and all three of them have the bleeding black. They are not as large as some of the other Kings though. I don't have any idea of the locality of mine...........
I noticed at the last reptile show I went to the Arizona Mountain King snake hatchlings had some of the highest prices of the king and milk snake hatchlings.

How large are your adults and how big do they typically get Atavuss? Also, how much were the hatchlings going for at the expo? I didnt mean to bombard you with questions. I want 2 more snakes (next year) but I think I want a larger king or other colubrid. That AZ Mtn. King just moved up on my wish list.

I think the AZ Mtn. King adults I have are about 36 to 40" plus or minus roughly. They are not as thick as Gray Banded, Hondurans, etc. and have a smaller head, a large mouse is too much for them. Most of the AZ Mtn king hatchlings I saw were around 100.00 more or less. Mine have a very hearty appetite.
