Will rhp raise ambient temps?

I've read mixed reviews so I am a bit confused. I want to heat my plastic enclosure without heating the entire room (too expensive). Room may get down to 60 this winter, target temperature is 80F as flexwatt provides the hotspot. Any ideas?

That's what I do.

Heat mat for localized hotspot(90f) and my rhp turns on in the winter when my room gets down to 65f. I set the rhp to about 82F but of course that depends where your thermostat probe is.

Re: Will rhp raise ambient temps?

what size enclosure and rhp do you use? do yo have the rhp directly over the flexwatt? The debates I read some people indicated that rhp would only heat whatever is in its line of site, but otherwise only effect the entire cage by a couple of degrees but other people seem to disagree. If you measure well away from the rhp, is it still keeping the cold side at 80?
