How long til BRB color up?

i have BRB they told me he was about 2 months old, i wouldn't put much weight on that. i've had Apep for about 3 weeks now, when should i start seeing that beautiful red I've been seeing in pictures?

he's still a kinda Brownish color like i've seen of babies

maybe i could have a better idea how old he is if a breeder here could share the weight of a new born BRB

They color up over the first 18 months or so. Brighter color babies turn into brighter color adults for the most part. Babies are born typically around 30 grams.

Re: How long til BRB color up?

I have seen some litters down around 20 grams and I currently have a pair of twins born at 11 and 12 grams but yeah, 32 grams is a hatchling with very few meals taken.

Heck, I'm holding onto the entire 20ish gram litter to get a few more meals into them before I even think of selling them.

Re: How long til BRB color up?

It varies by snake. Typically, between 18 and 30 months for final color. Some never color up, and some shock you with amazing development. The parents are your best guide, as the babies will fall in a bell curve around them. Your breeder gave you pictures of the parents?

32 grams is *probably* young. However, a lot depends on birth weight and feeding schedule -- yours could be slightly older and just sparsely fed, or much older but just born light.

Good luck!
