Radiant Heat Panel

After getting some advice from people here, I have been looking in to Radiant Heat Panels. While doing some searching, I was looking at some that were not labeled for reptile use, and are a lot cheaper. My question, for anyone who knows a thing or two about these, and keeping safety in mind for the reptile, is there a difference between something labeled for reptile use, as far as heat output (it lists a wattage use), and construction of the panel and its safety? Here is a link to one I was looking at....

Re: Radiant Heat Panel

Try it out! I've always bought Pro-product panels but if these are just as good, might as well save $100

Re: Radiant Heat Panel

I honestly can't see a reason why this would not work.

The unknown is what products are used in the manufacture, that could cause air quality issues.
Aside from that test the surface temps before using and make sure it is mounted in such a way that the animal cannot contact it under normal cage excursions.

Also make sure when mounted that there are no gaps between heater frame and the cage that could cause an animal to try to enter.

Re: Radiant Heat Panel

Thanks LarryS, that's why I posted this question, to see if anyone had any knowledge about why a $110 heat panel that is marketed for reptiles is any better than a $40 heat panel marketed for keeping people's legs warm. Is there a heat output difference? I could try it and see if it works, they're really not that expensive. But sometimes, products are made differently and you never know why a product may be hazardous for animals. Thanks for the link to the pictures you made on how to try and make them myself too LarryS
