Which payment method is the safest for the seller?

I am planning on selling a few of my plastic cages in the future, and i've heard some sketchy things about people buying snakes/goods and then getting a total refund after making bs claims, so that in the end they get what they want for free.

Between money orders, checks, and paypal, which is the best for a seller?

Credit Cards are generally the most secure, as the companies are obliged to investigate fraud, compliance with local/national law and make refunds, same goes for Paypal when making online purchases (well they have made it their policy, not sure they are obliged by law the same way as CC's) - no other payment method offers this kind of protection

I would say Paypal, that gives you a trace and exactly who is purchasing it.

Re: Which payment method is the safest for the seller?

I have had to email a USDA office and report internet fraud when using paypal. The only reason I even knew the full contact info for the seller was from another member on the forum I purchased through. I got a pm a day later stating the springs were being shipped but it was months later.
The lesson here is....credit card. Most cards have fraud protection. I have never used paypal since.

Cash is king and always will be. After that email money transfer. PayPal is a farce.

sounds like this was straight up fraud - should never give personal info to a seller who doesnt give you theres before the transaction starts. I've had people try and rip me off via paypal, always had my money back within days

This was another member on a web forum I belonged to selling drop springs... I assumed paypal was safe. Right after the transaction he canceled the credit card for his account. I emailed paypal who simply told me sorry the card is not valid and we can not recover your money. So I posted the issue on the forum and was pm'd a name and address. I called the DA office in his city and explained what happened. Suddenly I had a shipping number and an apology. Paypal was useless....never again.
