Can't find mites what else may it be

Ok Inka "BCL" is acting only a tiny weird but it bothers me. He has payed in his water twice this week but has never before he refused a rat last Monday but took 2on Thursday. Granted he is looking like he may be going into shed again " he shed 2 weeks ago " but he just isn't himself. I did change his tank out for a larger one but changed nothing just more space from a 2x3 to a 2x4 peramiters are 92degrees basking 76 cool side 50+ humidity. What should I look for I have looked in the water, surched him and wiped him down to the point I think I am just paranoid. Oh and he lives on a sand coco topsoil and perlite mix seeded with spring tales and misted 2 x a day

I've been thinking of using a sand/soil bio active substrate as well. What are the humidity levels usually?

I think 50+ humidity is too low. Most people recommend 60-75%.

Normally 75-80% I say 50+ because I have never had it lower than that.

I am an over protective dad and if he lays in a different spot it bothers me. And I have never seen him lay even next to his water however I did move that to the warm side of the tank

Lol I understand, but if the conditions are right I wouldn't worry about every little detail. Let the snake be a snake! Keeping reptiles would be stressing and not enjoyable if we worried all the time.

I would move it back. If he laying next to it he most likely trying to stay cool. I have a couple snakes that we they get warm they won't get in the water bowl but under or next to it to help cool themselves off.

I second marvelfreak, I koved tonflorida and my snakes are now kept a bit warmer than when we were in ny, and I notice thwm spending more time in their water. I thinkbits probably a thermoregulatory thing.
