Exclamation Compatibility and Breeding Question

I have an Albino gofer snake and I was looking at getting a Honduran milk snake. I was at the reptile shop this afternoon and the owner said the 2 snakes were compatible to be in the same environment and that I could even breed them. I'm not too entirely sure on this scenario and haven't been able to find any info on it either so I'm looking for some guidance/opinions.

Re: Compatibility and Breeding Question

Housing more than one snake in the same cage is a disaster waiting to happen, and it eventually always does.

I have caught snakes swallowing other snakes more than once.

Have even witnessed garter snakes consuming other garter snakes.

Please don't house them together, and breeding them would only produce a batch of fugly mutts that muddy the genes up.

Re: Compatibility and Breeding Question

I agree completely with infernalis's post; Please don't house them together!!

Infernalis: is this pairing really even possible?? not advocating breeding them, just totally miffed.

Re: Compatibility and Breeding Question

Dont think breeding a gopher to a milk is feasible, and aren't milks highly cannibalistic even to their own kind. Seems like someone was trying to make a quick buck.

Re: Compatibility and Breeding Question

Pituophis X Lampropeltis occurs naturally in the wild occasionally - thats not to say there arent significant hurdles to overcome trying to replicate it in captivity
