"that time of the month"

Three of my four snakes are going to a shed at once lol Kind of defeats the purpose of owning four snakes. While one is shedding, I can hold the other ones, and while some are digesting, I can hold the others, etc.

Re: "that time of the month"

I have many snakes that shed or digest at the same time too. I guess you need to increase your collection. I keep between 100 to 200 snake at a time, so I can always mess with one of them.

Re: "that time of the month"

Just this week, my albino garter, my king, and my brothers corn all entered and came out of shed at the same time haha and my eastern garter is just heading into it

You know what they say, when multiple snakes are living together, their sheds become synchronized ...or wait, maybe that was ...nevermind.

weird, my snakes do something a little different. They all shed one after the other.

Re: "that time of the month"

lol I've only got two, but they're slowly linking up their shed cycles. :/ Before they started within a week of each other, then 5 days, then three days, and then two days. Next they'll probably start on the same day. lol Of course, Bud has his cycle every other time that Cloud has his.

Re: "that time of the month"

This happened to me recently right at my holiday time. One shed the day before I left and then when I got home after a week away five more had shed, I was quite disappointed the last one didn't shed at the same time :P

Re: "that time of the month"

There must be something to this. My Cal King and MBK usually shed within a few days of each other too. Considering they're on the same feeding schedule I can see how their growth rates would be somewhat similar.

Re: "that time of the month"

It's pretty weird. Think having a shedding snake around others can like.. Trigger the others to shed? That'd be pretty interesting!

Re: "that time of the month"

Someone should do a study on this, but with older snakes that do not shed as often.

Re: "that time of the month"

That'd definitely be interesting!
The test could consist of keeping maybe four snakes in one room and keeping track of when each sheds, and then putting them all in different rooms and seeing if anything changes.

Re: "that time of the month"

All ten of mine are in the same room. All of my males are on the same feeding schedule, both womas are on the same feeding schedule and all of the females are on the same schedule (except for my big girl) and they seldom shed at the same time.

Re: "that time of the month"

I feed all 16 of mine at the same time and only a couple shed at the same time. I have noticed my Black Blood shed a week apart every time. My WLP shed every three weeks weather he ate or not.
