Getting a full shed from an adult retic
Has anyone been able to get one? Whenever my big guy is in shed, I always raise the humidity to 90% to get a full, unbroken shed, but it always breaks! I'm just curious if anyone has been able to get one cuz, at my friend's work, they have a wall with all sorts of crazy bugs and snake sheds taped to it that they find and he wants a full one of my guy to put on there.

Re: Getting a full shed from an adult retic
i imagine the snake is just too big to shed all in one piece, regardless of humidity. Too much power behind the shedding motions, i bet its pretty easy for a big snake like tat to tear the shed as its coming off.

My 6ft boa has always shed in one piece but the last one didn't, I wonder what the size limit for full sheds might be.

Re: Getting a full shed from an adult retic
I don't think its possible, can't remember where I heard that they don't shed in one piece at at very large sizes though. Don't quote me on it. (I'm referring to like 12 + feet, not 6 )

Re: Getting a full shed from an adult retic
Thanks for the input guys. I didn't think it was possible cuz I've read that retics also have thinner skin compared to their size and I've never seen a large retic shed in one piece. But someone told me it's possible if I put a humid hide in the cage, but so far no luck.

Re: Getting a full shed from an adult retic
It is kinda possible! At my work we have a 20+ foot Retic, she shed her entire body in one piece minus her head a bit of the neck!
