Unhappy Advice on how to help my snake! (RI)

Hello
I have a Ghost Brook Kingsnake Ive had him for about 7months and hes 4ft. Recently Ive moved into a house that has a swamp cooler and didn't really think twice about it at the time. I noticed my snake has been sneezing fluid and really restless. I learned he got a respitory infection due to the swamp cooler putting water in the air and making it humid fory big guy. Since then I have changed his substract to just plain white printer paper, I switched him out of his 65gal. Tank to his 40gal and bumped up his temp. I keep his tank at about 45 humidity and his temp at 90-95 I frequently check try to drain out the mucus if any from his nose and lately hes been all clear. Until today he sneezed and I caught him while alil mucus on his nose. Its also been rubbed raw he keeps rubbing it on the glass
About a month or so ago I moved back to cali and since Ive came back my big guy has not shed. Hes eating normal I feed him 4 med mice a week but no shed. This past week I fed him one large rat (told the store small they gave me large) in hopes it would stretch him out and he would shed. His scales r flaking off slowly you can literally see the wrinkles n his scales some scales worse than others (turning brown)
Im assuming he cant shed cause its not moist enough for him to but im scared to change his temps and humidity due to his infection.
Hes passed the rat I gave him and today went to the bathroom it was all liquid like a tanish color. About an hour later I was handling him and he leaked what I assume was clear liquid on my hand which smelt very awful. Is this normal? Hes never went to the bathroom and not pooped out anything somewhat solid.
I am trying to take him to the vet I get my first paycheck on Monday which will have to go to bills. I love my snake he was the first one I got I hate to get rid of him but I will if it ment he would get healthy again.
What am I doing wrong? Is there anything else I can do for him? I appreciate the advice and apologize for the length. Just worried about my snake!

Yeah, you need to get him to a vet asap. you did the right thing switching over the substrate, have you thought of giving him/her a bath? instead of raising the humidity, maybe just try giving it a bath. it just might help with the shedding. also, how old is your snake? because as they get older, they stop shedding as frequently because they slow down on growth.

Welcome to the Lampropeltis forum! Hate to hear that your snake is sick. Sounds like a trip to see the vet is in order. I'm sure others will chime in with more helpful advice.
