Re: Now ball Pythons are dangerous
saw this in the news over here aswell, our news focused more on the fact they where kept in plastic storage units, i presume RUB's or something similar, the usual hysteria ensued, although I would expect the animal department of most police forces to be able to make a fairly good judgment of good conditions - hopefully more info will come out relating to that, rather than a knee jerk reaction to plastic tub housing

From what I understand they were evicted from their homes, because all pythons are against bylaw, which is why they had 40 in only five plastic tubs in a hotel room. So the reaction wasn't to the plastic tubs, it was to the amount of snakes per tub.

Re: Now ball Pythons are dangerous
So ball pythons are banned in some places? The reptile laws are getting ridiculous.

As ridiculous as the laws may be, we have to abide by them or they will get even stricter. That's why if you need a license or permit to keep certain reptiles, you need to get it. If certain reptiles are banned in your area, then either move or don't keep them. The more people that are caught keeping reptiles illegally, gives the law makers more reason to make more laws to ban them. We need to regulate ourselves or the government will do it for us. When we say, I'll keep what ever I want no matter what the law says, then we hurt others when we get caught.

This is all true and I agree with everything you said. However, we need to also agree that when ball pythons start getting banned the laws are getting out of hand.
