Pick my next snake!!

So. I'm going to the daytona show next weekend and I am allowed one last snake. I currently have a ball python. Two boas and a monitor. So I was thinking since it's my last snake for a while that I should get my favorite snake in the world. A retic. But I've considered something smaller. So now I'm confused and don't know what to get. I was also thinking about an albino boa or a king rat snake. Anyhow, I'm going there with 250 dollars. Anyone have suggestions on what snake to get?? Thanks in advance

Re: Pick my next snake!!

If you want a retic and feel comfortable with that commitment, then get a retic

super dwarf retics are like 350 for pures. You can find something in the 250 range

Re: Pick my next snake!!

who is 'allowing' you? If you live with your parents or will potentially be going to college, who will take care of your retic as you get settled (many colleges dont allow any pets, and most apartments may balk at the idea of such a large snake).

If you're well settled financially, and can afford to keep and feed this snake, as well as commit to housing that will allow your snake, then go for it. If you dont know your situation in the next 5 years, i would say try to wait on the retic.

in any case, best of luck, and congrats on your new snake (whatever it may be)!

Re: Pick my next snake!!

Upon reading it again, you didn't really mention what your looking to get out of it...

Snake you can handle?
Manageable size?
Display animal?
Breeding project?
What level of husbandry difficulty are you comfortable with/able to provide?

Re: Pick my next snake!!

I've always love a large snake. I can manage a 10-15 foot snake with the help of my brother and my dad. I don't care if it is display or not. Not a breeder. Medium to harder care animal. Something that you do don't see everyday

Most yes. But the black head is WAY above his price range. Along with the olive pythons and I believe dwarf retics go for a bit.
