dentations in scales?

I have a mexican black king and I've been wondering if anyone has noticed any dented scales. I always see some on mine and they seem to go away everyonce in a while and appear on other scales. is this normal? her humidity is at 60. the temp for the cool side is at 75°f, hot side is at 85-90°f. she is on aspen bedding. she's also a year and a half old, feeding on 2 adult mice now.

Re: dentations in scales?

Mine has had those for awhile, he's perfectly healthy so I wouldn't worry about it

Re: dentations in scales?

i agree, ive seen that on my female cali king, less so on my honduran milk and male cali king... seems more pronounced before a shed?
none of the above have ever had issues related to the 'dented' scales.

Re: dentations in scales?

Nothing to worry about. My snakes have some dents in their scales to. My guess is that they get it while climbing or wrapping around something rough/sharp.

Re: dentations in scales?

It happens. The only thing thats annoying is that its hard to tell between dented scales and stuck shed on a small snake. Otherwise it's normal.

Re: dentations in scales?

Disagree with that statement, mine hardly ever goes in his hide. They are where he curls up. Hide or no hide, he gets them

What else is in the enclosure? It doesn't just have to be a hide. It can be from any rough or sharp objects inside the cage.
