best stat
Hi to all I curently have a on off stat and feel that a puls stat would control the heat bulb better? Am I right to think this eny info on best stat be very gratfule thanx in advance

An on/off t-stat will wreck your bulb. I would definitely get a proportional.

I use proportionals on all my CHE's bulbs been going three and a half years with no issues.

The proportional ones should keep the temps within less than one degree variation from the set temp. I think the on/offs are something like three degrees variation.

a dimming stat will control non light emmiting and light emmiting heat sources

I preferred the habistat on/off stat over the microclimate version as it was a bit more accurate but I now own microclimate digital stats and I can't fault them. I think if you are going for a standard dimmer then microclimate and habistat are pretty similar in quality/accuracy.

Yes think I will get the habistat dimmer stat have red about them I hope I wont be going thrugh bulbs as often lol. With the on off stats bulbs dont last much more than 4 to 5 months allways have a spere tho so aint 2 bad lol thanks

The one point I have heard in favor on on/off models is that rduce your heating bill, some say significantly. That said...I'd rather have perfect temp control than save a few bucks! Good luck either way.
