I am hook training my retics and want any suggestion concerning how long I should do it. I use to hook them 5 minutes twice a week. Is this sufficient? Any advice?
They are 1.0 jampea (9 foot), 1.1 kayuadi (6 and 5 foot respectively). Not very agressive though.
Hook training only consists of using a hook to touch the snake when you first open the enclosure. This way when you go to handle it for whatever reason it doesn't attempt to bite and gets it out of feed mode.
Don't use anything like this when you go to feed. Open and put the prey in.
Thanks for the answer!
I use hook trainning mostly because I want to tame my retics. They use to be a little bit agressive. Perhaps hook trainning is not enough... Any suggestion?
