is my corn snake ready for bigger mice?
Hi. I have a corn snake and it'd be A LOT easier if he'd take adult mice. My Ball python destroys adult mice and I buy five weeks worth at my local pet store every five weeks. Buying hoppers and adult mice is doable but it'd be easier to buy 10 adult mice and feed each snake for five weeks. Think he's big enough for an adult mouse? I can take a picture of him next to an adult mouse if that helps.

Does a hopper leave a bulge or can you not even see it after it eats it?

You can see it if you look closely.

If the bulge is that small I'd say your corn is ready to be eating adult mice.

Thanks. You think he'd try to eat a.mouse that's too big if I offered it? Animals know their limits so idk... I think he'd be smarter than that.

If you are unsure, feed him 2 hoppers.

My pet store only sells frozen adults. I don't like feeding my snakes live. All the hoppers they have are live :/ that's why I'd like to get him on adult mice, if I can

Adult mice are probably 1.5x the size of his body.

They will be fine then. I feed my adult corn rats but much less regularly, from memory the rats are 125-150g

Is there a petsmart around you? Hopper to adult is a two size diffrence. I'm sure it would be ok, I just wouldn't do it personally
