Question Keeping a tub dry???

I'm getting rid of my huge oak entertainment unit that I've been using as a critter cage stand now for a few years. It's too big for our little apartment so I bought a shelving unit.

Boaz, my Rosy Boa is currently in a glass terrarium which stays nice and dry. I will be moving him to a tub once I sell the entertainment unit.

Now, Rosies need very low humidity. How do you keep it down in a tub? Lots of holes is a given, but is there anything else I can do? Are there certain things I can put in there that will 'absorb' humidity?

Thanks!

Use your normal substrate and don't mist the enclosure. Also, drill plenty of holes in the lid so that the moisture can evaporate upwards. Some people will even cut a hole and install a sink strainer screen into the lid above the water bowl.

Also, a small fan near the ventilation holes would probably suck a lot of humidity out. Just don't blow it directly on your snake.

Thanks for the responses.s
My normal substrate is aspen. I think I'll make a few extra holes in the lid.

Haha, I've already got a lot of holes, think I'm gonna make some more. I want to get him in it right away so I can empty out my stand and sell it.

Wouldn't too many holes make it hard to keep a thermal gradient? Especially in the Winter.

Yes, I'm Canadian, no, I don't live in an igloo.

He has hides and the hide on the warm side will keep the temp. I have a temp gun to monitor as well.
