Update
Ok, so I've decided to go with the MBK and the 40 gal tank. Now my dilemma is do I order my snake online and get it here next week or do I wait for the Repticon show in Atlanta in late July. The snakes online are a bit more expensive, I don't get to see or handle the snake prior to buying, and I have to pay for shipping. Patience is not my strong suit and I don't want to spend the money on something else over the next month and a half. Decisions, decisions....

Re: Update
If you have the option, I would choose to handle my snake 100% of the time before buying. If they do not have what you are looking for at the expo, then you can order online. (Think I saw some MBKs on fauna btw.)

Re: Update
Any good sites you all would recommend for buying that MBK? I've been watching reptmart.com, bhbreptiles.com, and lizskingsnakes.com . Reptmart has them in stock for $80 each +$35 for shipping and a $15 health certificate fee. BHB is sold out but should have more soon for $50 each + $40 shipping; Liz is expecting hatchlings any day and selling them for $45 each + $30 shipping. She may even be willing to meet me in person to deliver the animal. The snake may not ship until mid July though. What to do?

There are other ad's for black king snakes such as from exotic pets, and private breeders. I saw a couple the other day.
However I would do what franks said and see if they have any at the expo. This way you can actually see your animal and handle it before buying it. Who knows, you may run across another snake and decide to buy something else.

Re: Update
Looks like there's a Repticon show in TN today and tomorrow that I can't make : (
Will try to hold out for another month. Hope something happens sooner though.

Re: Update
Honestly I'm an impatient person and would just order mine.. It's not the ideal choice I know.. But I would only order online from a reputable source. Bhbreptiles.com was my choice because I watch their YouTube channel and have a good idea of how they take care of their animals. It's still not as good as seeing the animal yourself first but it's a good option for someone like me who can't go to expo's and live in a city where the pet stores don't carry the snake I want. The MBK is no where to be found here...

Re: Update
Yeah, its pretty much down to who comes through first between Liz and bhb. They both seem reputable and I believe they care about their animals. The other supplier was a bit overpriced. Now comes the hard part. WAITING! I'm so ready for my snake.

Re: Update
I know what you mean. I had all the supplies and tank set up.. Months before the breeding season not knowing how popular MBK's are... When I couldn't find any I was a sad panda. Thankfully bhb came through for me so I hope you get yours soon. Gotta share pics!
