She's doing well
Hey guys I thought I would kind of update you on Magenta
I went and got some new substrate that holds humidity better.
My dad also brought me home a temp. gun so now I can finally check. My gauges broke.
She just ate a rat pup! I was kind of afraid she wouldn't be able to handle it (it wasn't that big.. just kinda large) but she got it down and hasn't regurgitated or anything. I need to remember that she's a snake haha.
This weekend I'll make it my weekend project to measure the top and get a piece of Plexiglas to place on top of the tank because it's seriously not holding humidity with the screen top.
So in short she's doing really well

Re: She's doing well
Thanks guys And SkyesRingo... Ringo is so flapping adorable!
And Mikoh she wasn't sick or anything but I did change a few things that needed to be changed about her cage, at my own opinion. When I got her I had her cage set up like my old corn snake's but I realized that she needed different things :P

ohh I see. What kind of boa constrictor is she? She looks to be from some sort of central american locality.

Re: She's doing well
I have no idea! The breeder I got her from got her clutch from someone else and had never seen her parents. That's why I got her for dirt cheap (seriously). Someone on another forum says she looks to be Colombian with some sort of island persuasion. I just know she's BCI but not the locality...
I held all the females and Magenta had the best personality.

I actually saw a bunch of colombians in person the other day and they look totally different. There could be some colombian genes mixed in though. She looks great though, I may purchase a dwarf boa in a few months or so.

Re: She's doing well
She might be dwarf. I'll never know until she's fully grown. Someone pointed out to me on another forum that unless I saw her parents and talked to the original breeder I'll never know her locality for sure. :/ It sucks. I wish I knew.
Anyways, I've seen different looking Colombians as well. There were some full grown ones on display at the expo and some were dark, some were light, and some were dark and light. I think it depends on the genes.
She might be some weird mix of Nicarguan or something for all I know
When she's done digesting her rat pup I'll attempt to measure her haha.
