Beautiful GTP!
As far as longest teeth goes, I was under the impression that ETBs had longer teeth than GTPs.

Re: new baby
Really? I swore I'd heard from several breeders and owners that it was GTB... Wonder if anyone that's experienced in owning both for several years, or owning alot of both, could give us the average tooth span with GTP vs. ETB.

Re: new baby
i've actually worked w. both (adults only) and any time a gtp got ahold of me it was always much worse than an etb. i've never been in a situation where i took a good look then compared teeth size though.

Thats absolutely right, Gaboons have the longest fangs, the record is 2.5 inches!!
Cobras do not have 2 inch fangs, they have very short fixed teeth, if they were 2 inches they would be stickin out the bottom of its mouth!!!
Hi btw!! lol

Re: new baby
From everything i read while i was doing research ETBs have the longest teeth of any non-venomous snake. My little guy was born august 3 2010 and his teeth are already bigger or the same size as other snakes i've had at the 1 year to 1.5 year mark. I think it's mainly the canines that are the big difference.

Re: new baby
From what i understand, ETB's have the longest teeth on the non venemous side of things, closely followed by the green tree's.
i think its down to the fact they feed on birds, and need to get through the feathers, either way, i dont want to be picking their teeth out my finger!!!

Re: new baby
Nice teeth huh?
And as for them having the longest teeth because they mostly eat birds, that seems to be false as well. Birds apparently are a small part of their diet. According to observations and necropsies done on numerous animals they mainly eat small arboreal mammals.
