Re: Got a carpet today! :)
it looks irian to me
its only carpets i keep and got my first pair of pure irians a few months back
mine are line bred for a reduced pattern so slightly different from yours
ive found irians to have some of the most diverse patterns of all the carpets
great choice of snake
im sure you'll have a lot more carpets this time next year as they are highly addictive snakes
cheers shaun

Re: Got a carpet today! :)
Thanks - also, nice to hear you say it looks like an Irian since that's what we wanted her to be. I hope we don't have too many more snakes by this time next year since we really shouldn't take on too many. But I already love her - she's so adorable, even if she does like to bite right now

hmm, im not convinced she is irian, they usually have a more golden color to them, not to say your wrong tho. she looks very close to my old coastal carpet minus thats sweet dorsal stripe, im just loving ![Smilie](http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) Morelia ftw. and dragonov i just seen my first ivory carpet pic, i must say they are very beautifull snake, the white offset by the dark black is very impressive, I realy hope you find one.

We got her from D&K Reptiles (who we also got our Nic and BRB from). They're from Ohio (which is where your profile says you're from) but go to shows near us. The other two snakes we got from them are awesome snakes and trust we'll get healthy, feeding/eating snakes from them. Here's their website: Home | D&K Reptile Sales
Oh - I don't know how often they update their site about what kind of snakes/lizards they have because when we got our carpet from them she wasn't on their list so emailing them may be a good idea (that's what we've always done).
At the reptile expo that we picked her up from (we emailed them about getting her at that show) we saw a few other breeders who had some carpets as well - it was the Shepherdsville (in KY) show - one of the best expos we've been to.

pure coastals tend to not have distinct head markings
re head markings
on the wild caught coastals in australia the head pattern is not uniform normally taking on a smudgy appearance.
re colour
there are irians ranging from, gold, yellow, white, dark brown,a blue tinge,a green tinge, carmel
i would not totally base my identification on something as diverse as colour when it comes to the irian jaya's mate
ive only just started working with irians but have found them to be the most diverse re colour and patternation of all the carpets ive worked with so far.(not argueing with you mate, just adding my 2 cents worth)
DRAGANOV
Mike Curtin of the usa produces some of the best ivory jungles ive seen mate
he states his location as NJ
i dont know which state this represents but he does ship through out the states
cheers shaun

im the same mate
best i can do is an educated guess
thats the thing with carpets if you dont buy it from an honest reputable breeder then you will never know its true genetic make up
im just getting into irians and they are all so different im having difficulty telling what is and is not a pure irian
carpet genetics makes my ears smoke
cheers shaun

the granite gene was originally found in pure irians mate
like the jag gene belongs to coastals
the granite gene belongs to irians
zebra gene belongs to jungles
cheers shaun
