...

1) I'm not sure why you think that snakes need a lot of time to take care of. A giant Burm doesn't require your constant attention. In fact, it won't want it. Snakes "like" to just sit and be snakes. I can't imagine what chores you're dreaming up to take care of this Burm.

2) My prediction is that you'll get bored of this snake long before its 5th birthday. A giant Burm is fun for all of about 2 weeks. Then its just a big lump that sits there. If its your only pet, you're going to be watching a lot of TV, because this snake certainly won't entertain you.

3) Build a huge cage for a Burm first, then put a blanket rolled up like a snake in there and watch it. That's exactly what it'll be like when you actually own the Burm.

Fun? Not really.

Jeff is completely wrong as always a pool noodle is MUCH more entertaining then a blanket and far more like a burm

Yeah, not a full bedroom, but even a smaller burm will need something along the lines of 9ftW x 6ftD x 4ftH (not sure on height for burms) and thats more than half the floor space of a bedroom (well, unless you have the master ))

It sounds like you have enough experience to me the question is the time and money to feed them. Dont listen to anyone about the "age" factor. I am 15 1/2 myself and own a beautiful CB male Labyrinth Burm.

good choice on waiting to get a burm. I have a burm and it take a lot of time and space. cleaning is another thing you have to think about, the bigger he gets the more comes out. let me tell you that a 15 foot burm eat alot and goes alot if you know what I mean. at your age a 8 foot burm could kill you .it will reach 8 feet a long time before you reach 18. I've been bitten buy my friends 12 foot granite burm, you would not believe the pain. I could not use my hand for 2 days because of the swelling. that's my opinion, just trying to help you go in the rite direction. also don't get ride of your collection just to buy a new snake. you will regret your choice especially when your burm reaches 10 feet and you are looking for a new home for him because you can't handle his size anymore.
take care pat.
