He's a big little guy for sure. I'm honestly not 100% on his length he's definitly bigger then 9 feet, might be bigger then 10, I don't think he's 11 though. Imagine my surprise when I picked up the box and opened it up to find him inside. The guy that sold him to me said he was about 8 feet and under 10lbs.

I can't decide if I like the orange or silver eyes more. Altought the jamps eyes change constantly. My female had bright pure silver eyes when I got her(I have a pic of her ad from Bob Clark's website somewhere), and have turned anywhere from silver, bronze, greenish, gold, marble, to almost black. You really have to look to notice after a bit.

Re: My pure Jampeas

Yeah he may have under advertised a little bit, he definitely looks bigger than 8 foot and is probably heavier than 10 lbs , or so it looks that way from the pics

Part of why its taken so long to get descent pics. Jamps are definitely my favorite locale. Their personality is the best.

A "super jamp" is the term coined for jampea and super dwarf crosses. So jampea crossed to kalatoa, madu, kayuadi(depending on who you're talking to I say they're dwarves).

Super jamps are supposed to be really fun mix of the two. Stay on the smaller end of the spectrum of size for jamps. And supposed to have a slightly toned down feed mode. Who did you get yours from? Mike Chambers?

ok cool didnt know for sure and couldnt find it on google(go figure) well she certianly is fun and all the good traits of retics but smaller. idk if i would use the words "toned down" and feed mode in the same sentence though. i drop the rat in and close the door as fast as i can sometimes, and i dont go near the cage for the next couple hours cuz she'll hit the glass if i get to close. but as soon as the scent wears off i can open the cage up and reach in and do and move w.e. i want in there with little more than her just watching me.

and no i got her from an animal expo near chicago from Jim Gaspers of Gasper Reptiles. he had a couple of real sweet golden child tigers too among other things, but this one really caught my eye. and price was right for me.

Re: My pure Jampeas

Believe it or not, if you can get the prey item into the cage. That's a toned down jamp feed response. I can't get food into her cage she comes out for it no matter what. And stays in feed mode pretty much at all times, even with a huge belly buldge.

I never got to meet or speak with jim(RIP), his son is a great person to work with. What year is your retic. My female comes from there line of jamps(last clutch they ever produced of pures), there's a chance our animals are related.

I didn't even know he passed :-/ I never got to meet him when I was there it was his wife and two sons running the table.

Yikes well glad she's as good as she is, I do handle her very often so maybe I've calmed her down a bit, as long as I don't smell like rat I'm safe. She scours my room for where I put food tubs or my feed gloves looking for a meal haha.
That has happened many times as well, I love their aggression for more food even while they are almost too full to move around yet still acting hungry enough to eat a horse lol.

I bought mine in 2012, was told she was a May or June baby. That would be pretty cool if there related, it'd help me know if I'm taking care of her right.
