You keep making stupid threads all day about useless garbage. I like this site better without them.

Re: Breeding Collab!
I kind of agree with some of the other posters. I don't know what kind of college you go to, but I can't just pop in whenever I want. I have to actually be there or I'll get dropped. It isn't like high school, I'm paying for these classes, so I'm not going to just not go and waste money. I'm not sure how people usually start out their breeding projects, even with an experienced person, but what I saw on your other thread seemed to be a lot to just jump into breeding with. Have you even attempted to calculate budgets to see if you have the money? 100k doesn't go all that far if you're spending a lot every week, and I don't even want to imagine how much those snakes will cost to keep, let alone all of their offspring. Unless you or your partner has a really good job, you might not be able to run this for very long, especially if you can't find homes for the babies. I'm not trying to bash you, and I'm not going to pretend I know you or your circumstance, but you do seem to post some really scatterbrained posts, and you may not have thought this through enough. People are giving you pretty solid advice imo. In the end, it's your life to run or ruin, but I would at least give this some serious thought.

Re: Breeding Collab!
Times like these I wonder if trying to be nice and "fair" really works?
In the years I have been here, I have only repealed 3 bans, this one is the only one I'm starting to regret.

he's done nothing to cause any trouble since he came back. People are actively seeking to instigate a reaction from him...
Since you lifted his ban I haven't once seen him be negative towards people, only defensive since people are beginning to attack him.

Re: Breeding Collab!
I've only ever had pleasant experiences with Erik. He was a douche, he admitted it. In this thread he has not once attacked someone, only argued his side.

Well I have the right to post useless threads. I'll stay off certain members threads, so you don't have to hear from me, but unless I'm banned again, I don't really know what to tell you guys.

Re: Breeding Collab!
So how am I confused? I knew it was you who got banned before.
Look, if you want to breed stuff with your friend no one can stop you. It's your money. Honestly, after reading your breeding plan I have my doubts. I think you're going about it the wrong way but you do what you want.
Take into consideration where you plan on being over the next 5-10 years and make some priorities.
Also, accept that people aren't always going to like you and shoving your attitude down their throats probably won't help

Thanks. I didn't mean to shove my attitude down anyone's throat. What would you suggest to improve my plan for breeding?

Re: Breeding Collab!
Erik one of the first things you should do is get a lawyer to protect you. 100k sounds like a great deal of money but it really isn't. You should have a contract with your friend which delegates what's paid for monthly and by whom. The electric bill will be high, taxes on the property, insurance on the property and business, food bill, water bill, heating cost, building maintenance, % of ownership of stock, % of income, hours per week invested in upkeep of animals and general job duties and responsibility of vet bills, just to name a few.

This is very good info Erik.....pay attention. Also, since you are a minor, it may not be possible for you to enter into a binding contract with anyone...again, ZN suggestion of getting legal advice would be good. Seriously, you apparently just got a reasonable amount of cash. Invest it dude...Slow down. Enjoy the animals you have. $100K could grow into serious money if handled properly.

Narrow your scope (species wise)
Invest in high quality (don't breed just to breed. Create high quality animals that are going to make you stand out and I mean genetically and visually)
Know your market. For example beardies can produce up to 22 eggs in a clutch, and lay up to 5 clutches in a season
So if you have 120 bearded babies that means you're probably going to have to wholesale most if not all. Then imagine how hard it's going to be to do that if 10 other people are trying to wholesale 120 bearded dragons. Is especially if the ones you're producing are plain Jane normals. Same goes for anything else you produce.
If you want to make money you need to spend more on individual projects

I have no intention to spend that money right now.
My friend hit a cow and also got a settlement (don't know the whole story). It was a lot less than ours but that's how he bought the property that we're using.

Thank you. Really good advice and I appreciate it. We're definitely going to start with higher quality morphs. And luckily since we're splitting all the cost 50-50 it doesn't really cost a lot to buy anything.

Re: Breeding Collab!
I agree with ^^^
Plus, breeding a whole bunch of 'normals' isn't going to get you anywhere (especially bps) since they are already an over abundance in the breeding realm. Sure there are lots of people that want a bp and like normals but it will only get you about $50 per baby. Not much of a profit if you consider caging, caging substrate, heat bills, and food. I have got 10 bps and now that they are all coming close to adulthood and require small-med rats it adds up fast. Can spend over $200 a month just for 10 snakes!
So my advice, spend the extra money and put it towards higher end morphs. You will get a better variety of morphs depending on what you decide to combine, plus isn't that what it's all about? If it's just money your after then this isn't the for you....
