The calorie content of mice vs rats is vastly different and you'll spend a fortune on food (mice or ASF) if your carpet becomes a mouser. Growth rates are exceptionally slow (and I'm not a power feeder by any means). Every breeder I know starts their JCP off on F/T (if possible) rat pinks, so I'm interested as to why this breeder would recommend mice to begin? My hatchlings are offered rat pinks and about half have taken them. The rest are taking mouse hoppers. I hate this....I've had a mouser before and it's frustrating. I actually switch mine over to ReptiLinks as soon as they will take them (and most will), but that conversation is for another thread/discussion.
Nice looking jag btw. Great pick up and welcome to the club
