New 2014 Pastel het..
Pastel pied clutch laid tonight! My lovely pastel girl did excellent with 7 fantastic looking eggs. There was one roll out but it looked good. In my haste to set the incubator, I candled the first 6 and all had good looking vein structure but didn't candle the rollout. I am happy with this clutch. Pairing was pastel pied X pastel.

Thanks Tsu! I caught the eggs a bit late I think they were in the tub for several hours b4 I realized it. Scrambled around for a few things but it was a smooth transition to the bator. Lol.

dear al, since that one rolled out will it be a dud? it sort of looks like it has a crack in it. does the snake try to come after you if you touch the eggs?

Not necessarily mac! It doesn't have a crack, reptile eggs are extremely leathery and not brittle like chicken eggs. The roll out egg has some substrate on it from rolling along the tub floor. Once i got it into the incubator, i candled it and saw veins inside. They all seem to be ok at this point today. The incubator is set at 93f with the internal tubs at temp @ 88.6f. The roll out egg is in a separate tub with the internal temp @ 87.4f. Humidity in both tubs locked @ 99%. Some females will resist coming off the egg pile either by pushing, contracting. Some will hiss and strike out but that is rare. Especially if you use the proper technique removing them from the eggs.

So far so good on my check of the eggs in the bator. They all look white, bright and plump. Even the roll out egg looks fantastic. When I open the egg tubs to vent them in a week I will snap a picture. Haha.

Re: New 2014 Pastel het..
The reason the title is 2014 is bc the female is a 2014 Petco purchase! If I knew then what I know now about big box stores I would've never purchased her. I guess now she'll earn part of her keep. Lol.

Wait, so female is het for pied, or just a pastel? If there will be pastel pied babies then I'll really hate you for being so far away as I would love to have one

OK Sylph, the female is a 2014 and is single gene pastel. No pastel pieds in this clutch. But there is alot of potential. Haha. My next project will be the albino pieds, then hopefully, killer pieds. You have been on my list for some time. Lol.

Arghhh, I'm looking for albino pieds for a long time, but no one in my country has them... Not even in the neighboring countries... It's not fair! You really needs to make your licence, and I need to save enough money for one! Or two.... *looks at the second russian pair that still does not want to lock and produce enough babies to pay for albino pied*
