Re: Morzan and Homura

I'm a little late to the party, but I gotta say that your female is one nifty little gal. BRB's were never my thing, but I never had seen one THAT orange before. I also love the way it brings out her head markings, really makes it pop!

Looking forward to seeing more of these guys. Congrats on the handsome fellas!

Believe it or not, she was nowhere near the brightest of the litter! Her brother, the one I was originally going to get was 2-3x brighter, but Dave ended up holding him back. Some of her other brothers and sisters were of similar brightness to him. I may see if he'll repeat the pairing, or have a similar pairing, and try to get one of those brighter babies in 2017-2018 or something.

If you've ever seen Dave's photos, they're very dark, and the flash usually looks very different from the non-flash photos, drowning out a lot of their color. Well, the brightest of the littermates didn't look any less bright orange in the flash photo than they did in the non-flash photos, so they had to have been super super super bright.

Hypos are starting to gain more and more color as breeders are selectively breeding for higher/deeper red het hypo parents.

Also... I'mma be the one nerd in here who asks if you named Morzan after one of the 13th Forsworn from Eragon...? >3> Cuz that's what I was thinking the first I saw you mentioned it, ha.
I'll have to say you're not out of place here on that front! I do try not to antagonize my snakes, since it stresses them out, but at least I got finally got a snappy baby, even if he ends up being much calmer once he's settled in.

Yes, it's Morzan from Eragon. I named him before I got him, but he certainly living up to his name. haha

SPot on -- hypos are indeed getting brighter!

This is one of our holdbacks from last year (with flash):

I expect even more glowing results from this year’s pairing:

Best,
Nice! I'm not against buying elsewhere, so I'm willing to consider anyone with bright hypo babies. I just know Dave has already produced those bright hypos. haha I've seen some other hypos from high red parents, but they paled next her. Your hold back looks very close to her colors! Not sure if it's the camera, but it's got a deeper orange color rather than a fluorescent highlighter orange, but I'm not against that color.

I'll keep you and Dave in consideration when I'm ready to get another rainbow. I've got to wait on the bigger snakes until I get my snow boa. haha Nothing bigger than a hoggie or garter until then.

Re: Morzan and Homura

Why thank you! :-) This year's hypo litter, if she takes, should be stunning. But I'm please to see hypo quality up across the board.
