Bothrops Asper in the wild

Hey guys I wanted to share about my 7 day expedition in costa rica tracking down the Fer-De-Lance (bothropS Asper) the most feared animal In Costa Rica. After 5 days of intense searching thru the palm plantation at night we finally nailed this 5 foot sucker chilling ontop of a chopped down palm plant in hunting position. Feel free to ask questions!!

Oh yea wouldn't be pleasant. Met a couple of victims out there with massive chunks of flesh missing, years later.

What he said ^^

You have any more pictures of it or any other critters found along the way? Thanks for sharing, Costa Rica would be a dream herping destination. The raw biodiversity is mind-boggling.

I have tons if I can only figure out how to attach multiple pictures at once! We also tried to find the eyelash but unfortunately I wasn't successful. Also found a ton of wild dart frogs and tree frogs. As well as a angry Boa!

Try uploading them to a photo hosting site such as photobucket and link them, you can post many at a time and they will be better resolution.

One of the most interesting snakes in South America, got some horrible venom including some hemorrhagic components..

Re: Bothrops Asper in the wild

Man, I get so stoked if I find a Desert King, Lyres, or some form of Crote road cruising here in AZ. I couldnt imagine road crusing for Boas and Bothrops.
