Ah I missed everything because of work yesterday!! Gorgeous BP! Quite different from what you were preparing for, but I'm sure you'll be fine. To answer your unanswered questions; yes kitchen tongs are perfectly fine. I'd suggest rubber-tipped ones so that if the snake accidentally strikes them she won't hurt herself. As for hook training; it's not normally necessary for BPs but it wouldn't do any harm if you want to try it. Perhaps you can use this as an opportunity to develop habits that would be useful with future snakes that might require hook training more? But you don't have to.
Hold on to that snake bag, at least until she outgrows it, for future transportation or temporary holding needs(for example, while cleaning the enclosure?). I'm curious to see the enclosure you got; it sounds like you got a really good one.
