I finished my viv, for the most part. I'm not sure what's up with the water fall... i tested and tested and tested throughout the build to make sure the water would end up where i want it to, but now some of the waters trickling down another route and pretty much saturated a area of the substrate ... Might have to remove some dirt and replace with some stones. In about a week from now ill introduce a colony of springtails and some isopods then after a few more weeks-the hoppers will be kicking it oh-natural.

Its a complete failure. I'm not sure what happened! but somehow the plexi divider failed and flooded my "dry" land. Tes,test,test-yes, indeed i did. I had water in the tank for days prior to adding substrate and planting and yet it still went to sh*t. Obviously it was silicone job that ultimately failed. Now im stuck between ripping it all apart and starting over or Just leaving it and not using the water feature. :s

It's not a failure Josh27, just tweak it! You put so much into it now. Try, try, again. Stay in peace and not pieces.

Haha thanks for the encouragement, but I would have to start over. Its not really a bad thing as i would plan it out better and START with the divider instead of doing it after the background is put in.

You could try using the black pond liner as a divider instead of plexi. I've used it before and it worked quite well

Yeah that's a idea. That flex seal stuff was a idea as well or some kind of sprayon liner. The tank doesn't hold any value to me so if i ruin it i don't care

You could also get an open tank built to fit the wet area, made from either glass or the polycarb. That way the water stays where it's meant to.

I'm not following you pine family. Are you suggesting fitting a smaller tank or container of some sort in the wet area?

Just to clear things up, the "wet" area isn't supposed to be all that wet other then where the water fall falls to the false floor but i have gravel there instead of soil so there's no erosion. :s

That's what I meant. Sorry, I misunderstood what you are trying to do in your tank. It's still an option if you are wanting to keep your dry area dry.
