Re: Fiji iggi
Oh wow... So that makes another animal that I wanted that is entirely 100% banned. I would of loved a Fiji with nice bright blue coloration, and I also wanted a Giant African Land Snail. Just one was all I wanted, nothing that could breed, but because of irresponsible people just throwing them outside and not thinking twice about it, they're now 100% banned in all of America. I really wanted an ivory albino from a breeder. No chance of nemotodes/meningitis.
There was a pic of one Fiji that was just to die for... I'll have to find it, it was posted by one of the reptile breeders I watch, but man his coloration!

We are lucky here as most animals are not banned but there is strict licensing laws on venomous which requires home visits and protocols. And if you find the pic of the blue Fijian please post it as I've never saw one. This is only the second pair I've ever saw

One thing has been puzzling me... How can Fiji Island claim ownership of an entire species? :/ I realize it was probably named the Fiji iguana because they were found on Fiji island, but how can one claim an entire species? That sounds just as ridiculous as Amazon natives claiming all Amazon parrots, or Africa claiming all gazelle.

Re: Fiji iggi
If I'm not mistaken these are endangered, and they're only native to Fiji.
Someone help me on this, as I've never seen babies, but... This is a Fiji crested iguana and not Fiji banded iguana correct.

Re: Fiji iggi
These aren't regular iguanas like some people here seem to think. They are not even close. They've always been illegal as far as I know and no one is throwing these outside anywhere, nor are they running around in Florida etc. There is also no such thing as a blue Fiji, they have blue banding but thats it. Green iguanas have an axanthic morph which is blue, but again, totally different animal. Fiji doesnt allow these animals out of Fijii, and they only exist in Fiji, so thats how they claim ownership.

Oh no, my statement about irresponsible people throwing things outside resulting in a nationwide ban was strictly directed at the African Giant Land Snails. I know that there are other invasive species, that are actually reptiles, that thrive in places like Florida, but I've never known the Fiji to be one, at all, and the reptiles that are on those lists aren't necessarily banned nationwide. Some states permit them. The snail, however, is banned nationwide.
