I'm not surprised if it is, many people don't fully understand venom, they just avoid it.

You'd be surprised lol. I know people who actually believe that you have to bury a decapitated Rattlesnakes head at least a foot or so underground so the "poisons" can't seep up to the surface and poison you through your feet. I've been in some pretty heated arguments with friends over such myths, and there are a lot of myths about venomous snakes that are very popular in my neck of the woods. Many people don't want to let go of the old stories, gives them an excuse to kill any snake they come across.

Hey, at least he's asking a question rather than assuming something. I don't see a real problem with the question. Some people don't understand venom like others do.
