Re: Super Dwarf Retics

They go for around $700-$900. I don't know of any for sale right now but both Rodney and Aubrey should be getting some in(and selayars hopefully) sometime soon. Can't remember if I said this before or not but Rodney was supposed to get in some selayars but they actually sent him sulas. It's a good thing he knows his stuff, imagine that mix up.

I know exactly what you mean about selayars being mini sulas. But the halmaheras I've seen in person looked even more like sulas. Here's a pic of one I saw at the last reptile show. I wanted to leave with this guy but he was t for sale. I did almost leave with a 50% selayar sunfire 66% het genetic stripe but I fought the urge in favore of a halmahera or selayar becoming available in the future.
thank a lot that helped and answer all my questions! now i just gotta contact them which has not been easy lol. Once again thank you and everyone else who pitched in.

Re: Super Dwarf Retics

Travis kubes is usually a little hard to get ahold of, he's got a wife and kids and owns a construction company. He's a very busy man, but keep trying him. He's got some of the best customer service, not to mention his animals, and is just all around a great guy to deal with. Still going to he a few months on the kalatoas but they're worth the wait.

Re: Super Dwarf Retics

Selayars look amazing, i had a breeding couple. There is a large breeder in germany, thats where i got my female. I however doubt they export to the usa, i had to drive for a day to pick her up.

Re: Super Dwarf Retics

I wish all I had to do was drive a day to get some selayars. Kalatoas are the only dwarf locale being bred in enough numbers to notice them in the market here. None of the big names are doing locales because morphs make more money.

Re: Super Dwarf Retics

If you call Travis he'll usually get back to you within 48 hours.

Halmaheras are nice if you can find them.

Go to Aubrey before you go to Rodney. I'll never do business with Rodney and I know a lot of other people that are of the same opinion.

I see Sublime has cribbed some of my notes on retics... He missed a few of the bigger localities but he got the majority of them.

Facebook, he's on all the time. I probably should have grabbed a card from him at the show.

Re: Super Dwarf Retics

I don't think he's got any pure dwarf stuff right now. But he should be ordering a shipment soon.

Re: Super Dwarf Retics

Yeah, hit him up on FB. If you can't get ahold of him you can contact his brother Samson who can help as well.

Lol. I actually debated wether or not to include selayars in the list.

Speaking of which.....know anyone selling pure selayars, or balis?

Re: Super Dwarf Retics

Check with Jeff Wilson for Selayers, he's always got something cooking with them, not sure if he's got any pure ones right now. No idea on the Balis. I'll PM you later.

Re: Super Dwarf Retics

Tic and balls also deals with high % Selayers, but not exactly "pure". The search for pures is tough, even if you are working directly with an import batch you absolutely can not verify the origin. The only way to get exactly what you want is to fly to the country, collect your snake, and then have someone export it out for you and then import it back into the states. People will falsely label locals to get them to sell quicker if they notice a trend. While many DO have a very unique look to them, some can be quite subtle.

As mentioned, Travis kubes will be your best bet for a pure SD, but want to check with him quick in order to ensure you can at least get in on the clutch as many people nab them very quick. Kris at Vital exotics has an adult SD anery for 1250 last time I visited his page, that IS a pure SD (Kalatoa).

I have a 50% Jampea Goldenchild het albino, and the jampea blood makes it simply glow. Its a male and ready to breed now at only 5.5-6' roughly.

Re: Super Dwarf Retics

Tics and balls are local to me so I see them at a lot of shows. The highest percentage selayars they have are 43%(crazy amount of selayar influence though). I all most bought a 43% selayar sunfire het GS for a price so good they told me not to say what it was at the last show but decided not to in favor of a pure. I'm also looking at some Bantaengs right now. I don't think ill get them because I can only get so many Retics and I'm not sure if I'd perfer the Bantaengs to selayars.

I know what you mean about them being mislabled. i got a pure kayuadi when i bought my first male "jamp". Aubrey is really good with identifying locales and even has some "selayars" right now that he doesn't trust, so he doesn't sell them as selayars. Unless its a known CB line your safest bet is to get from someone who you trust knows there stuff enough to know when things are wrong.

Awesome jamp GC. Jamps are my favorite locales. I haven't owned a cross but pures are, in my opinion, the prefect Retic. Stay a decent size, smart as can be, insane feeding response, beautiful, and gentle when handled.
