Re: Playtime with Daisy
Whoaa Daisy is a big girl! I've only ever had experience with my bp Penelope she's very docile and about 4 ft. People that don't understand snakes sometimes look at me or act like its the strangest or scariest thing... I find myself almost looking at this pic like that... Haha, half joking. This does amaze me tho!!! How is her temperament? She looks like she's enjoying playtime and very docile :-)

Thank you, and most of the time she does seem to enjoy being out of her viv. Her temperament is mostly good but like all large snake she is treated with a lot of respect

Re: Playtime with Daisy
I've been meaning to ask you Dave, just how many "tiny" serpents do you keep?

Re: Playtime with Daisy
Would it be possible to post a pic of her enclosure?
Any info on it. Size? Material? Cost? Just so any would be burm keepers can see what the future holds. Many newer keepers will see this thread and think Wow ...gotta get one and not ever read the most important thing you said here so far. She commands respect. She also commands knowledge. Again thanks for sharing. She is awsome and I am glad you named her after my grandma

At the moment Steve we have the 2 burms Daisy and Wilson, and the retic but I wouldn't call her big as she's only around 6 foot but is growing very fast.

That is one enormously beautiful snake! I wish I was able to own something that size.

I couldn't agree more with you mate so I'll give everyone a quick rundown on costs. First the viv Daisy is housed in a 6x3x3 viv these are made by a company Vivexotics they come in 3 foot cubes which can be joined together which is handy because when we need to upgrade her viv we just add another cube which will bring her up to a 9x3x3. The cost of her viv at the moment for the 2 cube is roughly £320 with another cube costing around£130. Then we have the heating. For ambient temperature we use a 500watt Microclimate AHS heater which cost around £120 and to create a hot spot we use a 100watt heat lamp. I hope this information helps make people stop and think just what your getting into

Re: Playtime with Daisy
I almost forgot the pics sorry for sticking my ugly mug in the first pic but I think it gives everyone a better idea of the size
Daisies viv I'm 5'6
And here's Daisy around 8ft+ the day we put her in
Sorry I can't get any decent pics of the viv now as we moved house and I can't get back far enough for a good pic
