Most of the proponents for an alternative history of humanity aren't really looking for the truth. Rather than following scientific procedure, they come with a fully formed opinion of what happened. Then they look for any evidence that could possibly be seen as confirming their opinion. They ignore any information that contradicts their opinion and they never perform any tests or experiments. That's why their views are seen as pseudo-science by the scientific community.
Reminds me of a debate I watched recently.

Which one was that?

Have you seen the Bill Nye vs Ken Ham debate?

You know it's going bad for one side when my 12 year old starts debunking their claims.

It also rained when I was in Egypt. Just once during the 3 weeks though.
Wind and sand erosion (and pollution) would probably be main causes. Pollution and excessive tourism causes lots of erosion, believe it or not.

Ah alright.

I guess he was basing his statement off of the time the pyramids were built

The thing I hate about creationism debates, is that creationists never come with an argument that supports their claims. They know that they don't have any evidence and they know that they can't debunk the scientific evidence that supports evolution. The only card they can play is to try to discredit science until you think that it's a religion. The sad part is that some people might actually believe that kind of logic.

Re: Giant ancient city found underwater

Fingerprints of the gods is an interesting read that poses a lot of good questions but little hard evidence to back some of them up from what I remember (it was many many years ago I read it). Graham did a few shows on discovery that were also interesting to watch. I think some of the theories him and Robert Bauval have need to be investigated further before being completely dismissed.
Then again as I mentioned it has many many years since reading and watching the shows and I have not seen or read a lot about Egypt for quite a while so it could have all been proved to be complete nonsense by now, or it could now be fact
