Wow what a stupid world. For what reason are they banned? They are skinny stationary lazy snakes that dont get bigger than 6 feet(most stop at 4). And couldnt survive most winters in the US if released or escaped

Technically they were not "banned", there was a process of requesting a permit and an application fee for said permit. With no gaurentee of approval.

So you could still own one, it is just a lot easier now without the extra hassle of required paperwork.

I think the permits may be a tactic to discourage people from impulsively buying a snake species that has more demanding requirements to be kept properly.

But yes, we live in a very stupid world indeed
