Where's the Poop?

I fed my snake on Tuesday, but I haven't seen any poop... Now I am just slightly interested where it is, but I am not worried he hasn't pooped (a year old snake would not have lived this long with not pooping). I was just wondering if there are any tips on FINDING the poop. He's a BRB so would he 'bury' it? He also doesn't stay in the open... He hides in his hides and in the corners under the substrate. But I have looked a little and haven't found anything. Now I am just wondering, what would happen or be the problem if he didn't poop? Something right inside, right?

Re: Where's the Poop?

Age and size of prey? I have snakes that will go several feedings without pooping and then they leave me a nice big deposit. If you are feeding prey items with a low hair content it is possible the snake won't poop for a while as poop is waste and is generally primarily hair. If you ever feed avian prey where the prey animal is fairly well developed you get bundles of feathers. Same general idea. The snake will poop out what it can't digest and use.

Just make sure your little friend is hydrated and the poop will come. I promise. And yes, the poop sometimes will get buried.

Re: Where's the Poop?

My BRB when I first got him, he didn't poop at all for 2 weeks. Then just unloaded it all at once, I've never seen so much poop. Now he is usually good for getting a good poop in once a week to a week & 1/2.
