I usually don't handle my snakes during shed because I imagine it must feel uncomfortable being touched (I know Cloud becomes a little twitchy now when he sheds), and it must be stressful when they can't see.

But, as far as my experience goes, you're not going to ruin their shed by handling them. I've never had a bad shed from them, even if I handled them. It's like saying snakes will mistake you for food if you feed in the enclosure, it's a myth.

Just minimize handling except during maintenance for stress reasons, and you should be fine.
