I offered him a small fuzzy and he ate it. I had to put it right on his nose for him to take it. hopefully by the time he sheds the meal will be fully digested. his whole belly is hazey but his eyes arent blue yet. cant wait for his first shed with me
Good luck!

looks like this heat is drying up all the humidity. my lil guy was poking his head out of the aspen this morning when i woke up so i decided to check up on him. His eyes were blue thursday morning when i checked him and he's been in a deep hide and super inactive. Well, it looked like he was able to take off the head part of the old skin and thats about it. i soaked in warm water this morning for about 3 mins (i had to go to work) so hopefully that helps. the heat has been cranking at my house and rightfully so as its been 20 degrees over the last few days.

will he be able to shed today? im guessing hes going to try again later as he still has the entire skin to take off minus the head...

Re: snakeweed

Put some moistened spagnum moss in hide. I do this for all my snakes in their warm hides.

Re: snakeweed

Thanks for the reply

Put the moss inside the hide on the warm side? Will he keep trying to shed? I hope he can take off whats left.

My snakes tend to use the warm hides more when in shed. You could put the moss in all hides. Just make sure the hide that's being used more frequently has moss.

Re: snakeweed

I put him in a plastic container with warm wet paper towels and he was able to shed. I also lowered the temp to around 82. I had it on the high side on 89. I usually feed him on mondays, should i wait till tomorrow? Or see if he will take it?

Thanks for your help Steve #thumbsup

I would wait until tomorrow to let him recover a bit after the molt. It's a good idea not to handle your snake for a day before feeding unless it doesn't stop them from feeding after they adapt.
