Pet coexistence can't be predicted. I hate it when people think animals are just like us, their not. There are too many instances of natural enemies coexisting in harmony to throw logic or written in stone conclusions about it.
I believe this though:domesticated animals take a lot of clues from our postures and we make them consciously and unconsciously. If you want to try to merge different species into a peaceful coexistence my best advice-be ever vigilant-but confident that they will get along.

This is terrible advice. Snakes aren't domestic animals so this is even more asinine.
I had rats in my snake room for three weeks. Some of my snakes were constantly hunting while others never even noticed.
