I never understood why the US does it the other way, makes no sense IMO.

I'm still waiting to see your new addition. Sorry about the other stuff.

We use the stupidest measuring units anyone could have thought of, and we based our temperature units on the temperature of human blood, which we thought was 100 due to inaccurate measuring devices at the time....turns out its 98.6 (I think thats where it came from, can't remember exactly though)

Doesn't surprise me one bit we had to put the month then the day.

The freezing temperature was based on a mixture of salt water and ice.....

the zero point is determined by placing the thermometer in brine: he used a mixture of ice, water, and ammonium chloride, a salt, at a 1:1:1 ratio. This is a frigorific mixture which stabilizes its temperature automatically: that stable temperature was defined as 0 °F (−17.78 °C). The second point, at 32 degrees, was a mixture of ice and water without the ammonium chloride at a 1:1 ratio. The third point, 96 degrees, was approximately the human body temperature, then called "blood-heat"

I knew something had to do with human blood. I think my teacher professor must have been blabbering or I was half asleep. Woops.
