Then I would say you should go to a reptile expo or somewhere where you can handle the animal before buying it.

You could choose to buy a snake because it's species is usually tame and then end up getting an aggressive individual.

What do you want anyways? Do you want an arboreal snake, aggressive snake, active snake..etc?
