Hi, when you say the fluorescent tube is UV do you mean UVA/B, if yes, which type are you using? I ask because it`s usually best to have them within 25cm or less from the surface of the animal to be effective in terms of the UVB, if it`s just for supplementary lighting it would still be best lower down. Obviously I`m only going by the pics, but it looks to be around 30m to 40cm depth at the bottom for the substrate, meaning the tube would be around 80cm higher than the top of the soil/sand?
You`ve made a fine job of the build, and even better that you`ve done this before getting the monitor, well done!

thats for the compliments mate. i was going to use the arcadia 12% tube but im obviously open to suggestions on that. if the tube is to high when i get around to putting the substrate in then it will also be hung on chain so its the correct distance away. its on the ceiling of the viv at the moment purley so i can see better in there when im working on it realy.
